Henry's Drive
Named after the proprietor of the 19th century mail coach service which once ran through their property, Henry's Drive Vignerons is the wine operation of the Longbottom Family of Padthaway. Today Henry's Drive Vignerons have extensive vineyards of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot with small plantings of Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Providing choice and complexity, the vineyards are on both terra-rossa soils over limestone and sandy loamy soils over limestone with the majority single cordon spur pruned and high trellised to allow airflow and to avoid frost damage. The Henry's Drive Reserve Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard. This Reserve block is slightly elevated, situated on a hillside surrounded by towering eucalyptus. The soil is sandy loam interspersed with limestone outcrops - perfect for producing fruit of the highest calibre.
